XDR Radiology
Inside Dentistry provides the latest in endodontics, implantology, periodontics, and more, with in-depth articles, expert videos, and top industry insights.
Digital radiography can deliver top-tier image quality, advanced image processing to support diagnosis, and software tools to advance treatment planning. But to provide these, we at XDR knew we needed to start with clinical insight, imaging science, and careful software design.
XDR has played a vital role in the development of this transformational technology. We're proud to have led the industry, from simple things like our software's black viewing background to proprietary methods for revealing soft tissues and correcting for projective distortion—and all with a touchscreen-ready interface.
But then we also point out how its lower profile permits a holder design that presents a smaller overall package, easing placement in the patient's mouth. And how the sensor's white face makes it easier to visualize after placement.
It's also difficult for dealers to consult, rather than to sell. We think it starts with the first phone call. The clinician wants clear, honest, accurate answers, not a sales pitch. And since we want happy users who tell their friends about us, it just makes sense to ensure that they purchase the right amount of the right equipment.
So, yes, we integrate with your current equipment, and with your current practice management software. Yes, we've been under the same ownership and leadership for over 12 years.
And yes, our technology is in thousands of practices around the country, and in many universities. But the real point is that you can deal with people who are pleasant to work with, come from a clinical background, and actually understand the science and engineering of radiography.
In other words, besides XDR being created by dentists for dentists, we decided it was time for radiography to be provided from dentists to dentists.
Everyone understands that a more comfortable sensor means a more compliant patient and thus better images. So sure, we mention that no CMOS sensor is thinner than the XDR Anatomic. But then we also explain how our corners have compound curves (with the largest radius of curvature available in a size #2 sensor), to minimize pressure on soft tissues. And sure, we mention how our sleek button is easier to clean.
Dental dealers rarely have the experience todemonstrate, much less explain, how and why thesetechnologies are better. For instance, we've found that it takes a dental professional to understand the value of minimized mesial dead space. Who else to explain how this patent-pending technology (in our Anatomic Sensor) provides an extra 2 mm of imaging area, to facilitate capture of the canine/premolar contact?
