Figure 1 | GALILEOS ComfortPLUS 3D CBCT is a groundbreaking 3-dimensional (3D) imaging system with sophisticated, easy-to-use software that navigates a 3D maxillofacial radiographic volume in an efficiently streamlined manner (Figure 2). This imaging system allows clinicians to observe bone anatomy, boney defects, and nerves in their exact locations, which improves diagnosis and clinical decisions. As a result, patients benefit from a customized treatment schedule and a faster resolution to their individual dental issues.
Pathologies that cannot be seen in 2-dimensional x-rays are revealed with cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), thereby leading to better treatment planning and improved treatment outcomes. Results of these findings are used to confirm or alter prescribed treatment, may help avoid unnecessary treatment, and create safer procedures. This allows clinicians to make the proper diagnosis on whether to restore a tooth or replace it with a dental implant. Whether complex or simple, GALILEOS is a useful technology for diagnosing the problem and providing treatment. The system allows the clinician to virtually place the implant on a 3D representation of the patient and examine the bone to determine that there is sufficient bone volume and density at that site to place the ideal diameter of implant and possible provisional prosthesis.
When it comes to pre-surgical implant evaluation, virtual implant positioning, and facilitating the production of computer generated surgical guides, GALILEOS is an idea tool. Implant dentistry is becoming more prevalent as the patient population ages and they desire safer solutions for replacing their missing teeth. Surgical guides improve treatment by eliminating any guesswork because all of the anatomy is revealed by the GALILEOS scan, thus the surgical trauma from conventional implant surgery is greatly reduced. Mapping out the inferior alveolar nerve, mental foramen, incisive foramen, and assessing the maxillary and paranasal sinuses provide a distinct advantage when pre-implant planning, saving time and achieving safety with a precise drilling template.
1. Best Image Quality
All elements of the image process are carefully synchronized to complement each other. Reduction of metal artifacts produces images with reduced scatter, resulting in the best image quality
2. Efficient Clinical Workflow
Intuitive handling, time-saving, findings-oriented workflow that is individualized for your practice with just a few clicks
3. Higher Treatment Acceptance
Patients have a better understanding of the diagnosis and accept treatment more readily
4. Safer for Patients
Predictable diagnosis and treatment options
