In 2009, I earned my dental degree from the University of California, San Francisco, and relocated to Florida with my family. After a brief associateship in corporate dentistry, I started a private dental practice from scratch and have performed integrated implantology using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) since then. My practice offers all aspects of family and implant dentistry to our patients. In 2016, my husband and I founded CEREC® Seminars, a digital education center and dental lab designed to support CEREC dentists. As an emerging implant dentist with limited funds, I invested in the upgradable Orthophos panoramic imaging system from Dentsply Sirona. Fortunately, my dental office was very well received by the community, and with all of the demand, upgrading to the Orthophos XG 3D became a reality only 6 months later.
How has 3D imaging benefitted your practice? Increased diagnostic ability allows me to plan my implant cases and treat my patients with incredible confidence.
Has CBCT simplified other procedures?I have incorporated sleep medicine into my practice, and CBCT evaluation of airway spaces in relation to jaw position has proven valuable.
