Neal Patel, DDS, CDT
I graduated from The Ohio State University, where I earned degrees in both molecular genetics and dentistry. I loved science, the fine arts, and education, so I found dentistry to be a perfect career. After graduation, I continued my education in prosthodontics, technology, and esthetics, and I also became a certified dental technician. Since then, I have been traveling the world, educating and training thousands of dentists around the globe on how to integrate exciting, fast-growing technologies into their practices and understand the complexities of getting these systems to work seamlessly together for the benefit of the patient. In 2015, multiple cases of thermal injuries in the dental industry came to light, so I started a relentless search for a high-speed dental handpiece that generated limited to no heat when in use. Through my search, I found Bien-Air's EVO.15 handpiece, and now I use it for the majority of my restorative and surgical procedures.
1.In a committed effort to promote patient safety, Bien-Air has introduced CoolTouch+™, the world's first and only heat-arresting system proven not to exceed human body temperature. After years of research and development, this complex proprietary technology is available to protect both the patient and the clinician during some of the profession's most frequently performed procedures. 2.Bien-Air's new generation EVO.15 Micro-Series models combine innovation with a compact design, resulting in improved power and maneuverability. Up to 30% shorter and 23% lighter than traditional models, they feature an easy-to-hold shape that allows for optimal work comfort with less strain on the hand, arm, and shoulder. 3.The EVO.15's handpiece features a miniature shockproof head that is designed to facilitate maneuverability, posterior access, and pediatric use.
When do you use the EVO.15 handpiece?
I use it for conventional fixed prosthodontic preparations, including veneers, inlays, onlays, and crowns.
What is the best feature?
The CoolTouch+™ heat-arresting technology allows me to focus on precision dental preparation without worrying about the risk of thermal burns.
How has the handpiece simplified your practice?
I can focus purely on the actual restorative procedure, improving efficiency and the experience for both my patients and myself.
