Rainey explains that her role as an educator has enabled her to learn more about dental materials and some of the companies behind the most dependable products, which in turn has made her a better practitioner. "The water content in an adhesive affects its pH, with a higher water content providing more ions and leading to a more acidic product in the presence of MDP. The water content of All-Bond Universal is very low, which means that it is less acidic than many of the other universal adhesives on the market. This is beneficial because some initiators in dual-cure products, such as cements and buildup materials, are deactivated by the higher acidity of some universal adhesives, and that is why they must rely on an additional activator to be effective."
