The Denobi Awards, an industry-wide recognition program in the dental field, is gearing up to celebrate its five-year anniversary with a red-carpet gala on March 1, 2025, in Portland, Oregon.
The Denobi Awards have become a hallmark event in dentistry, spotlighting outstanding individuals and teams who have made a lasting impact across all areas of the profession. From dentists and hygienists to support staff and dental educators, the awards recognize the “unsung heroes” whose contributions have helped shape and advance the global dental community.
This year, the awards program received over 300 nominations. The event will be held in collaboration with the National Mobile & Teledentistry Conference.
“We are proud to recognize a new cohort of recipients who are effecting positive change in their communities, one smile at a time,” said Sonya Dunbar, co-founder of The Denobi Awards. “They join the distinguished ranks of the 55 past recipients who are at the forefront of kickstarting initiatives, expanding organizations, and championing diversity, inclusion, and wellness.”
The 2025 gala will be hosted by industry leaders Jonathan Bonanno, Ph.D. (C), MS; and Michael Bonanno. The evening will feature the presentation of ten individual awards, one team award, and the Dentistry’s Thought Leader Award, which is presented in partnership with the Speaking Consulting Network. The crowning moment of the evening will be the announcement of the Dr. Lou Shuman Denobi Pinnacle Achievement Award, the program’s highest honor, recognizing an individual whose leadership has significantly influenced the dental profession.
“It’s incredible to witness the impact The Denobi Awards has had on our industry over the past five years,” said Melissa Turner, BASDH, RDHEP, EFDA, co-founder of the awards. “Denobi Shortlisters and Winners have gone on to achieve remarkable feats worldwide. Exciting developments are on the horizon for The Denobi Awards program, and we are eager to make an even greater impact in the future.”
Tickets for the gala on March 1, 2025, are now available for purchase. Nominations for the next cycle of the awards will be open from October 1 to December 31, 2025.
