Dentsply Sirona announced the appointment of David Ferguson as senior vice president and global business unit leader, effective March 14, 2025. In this role, Ferguson will oversee the global business unit teams managing the company’s dental product portfolio, serve as a member of the executive management team, and report directly to CEO Simon Campion.
Ferguson’s appointment follows his 25 years of experience in the med tech and healthcare sectors. He has a proven track record in delivering results, competing in global markets, and leading product strategy. Prior to joining Dentsply Sirona, Ferguson held leadership positions at companies including GE Healthcare, Baxter, and Philips.

Ferguson’s career includes leadership roles at several well-known companies in the healthcare sector. Most recently, he served as president of Gore Medical, a unit of W.L. Gore. Previously, Ferguson was executive vice president at Philips and president & CEO of Philips Respironics, where he managed a global team of 6,000 people. At Baxter Healthcare, he led the global infusion therapy, IV solutions, and patient monitoring business. Ferguson has also held leadership roles at GE Healthcare.
Ferguson holds a PhD in chemistry from Texas A&M University, a bachelor of science in biochemistry from David Lipscomb University, and graduated from the Advanced Management Program at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He has served on multiple boards, including AZBio, Philips PAC, and Baxter International Foundation. Ferguson is also a co-inventor of two U.S. patents and the author of ten peer-reviewed publications.
