Exocad unveiled a series of new AI-powered features and services at the International Dental Show (IDS) 2025 in Cologne, introducing tools designed to enhance digital workflows for dental labs and clinicians. The company presented its latest software updates, including AI-generated crown designs, photorealistic smile visualizations, and a focus on minimally invasive dentistry.
At the event, exocad demonstrated the upcoming Chemnitz release cycle and introduced a new approach that integrates restorative and orthodontic treatments with an emphasis on tooth preservation. Attendees explored the software through interactive “test-and-try” stations and attended presentations from industry professionals.
Among the software updates presented was the DentalCAD 3.2 Elefsina Feature Release, which includes TruSmile Video, TruSmile Photo, and AI Design. According to the company, these tools enable dental professionals to create realistic before-and-after visualizations based on individual treatment plans and generate AI-driven design suggestions for single-unit crowns. The new features are available through exocad’s credit-based purchase system.
“At IDS, we enjoyed showing visitors the innovative AI-enabled services we’ve designed to enhance productivity and craft compelling smile makeover visualizations that patients value,” said Novica Savic, exocad’s CCO and general manager. “At exocad, we are committed to advancing digital dentistry and are always excited to present the exocad community with the latest innovations for cutting-edge CAD designs.”
The company also highlighted its efforts in fostering collaboration between dental clinics and laboratories. In Cologne, exocad featured six experienced dental professionals discussing their use of digital tools in daily practice. Additionally, the “Voices from the Bench” podcast, hosted by Elvis Dahl and Barbara Warner Wojdan, recorded live interviews at the exocad booth, capturing perspectives from dental technicians and industry experts.
During IDS 2025, exocad continued its charitable initiatives, offering booth visitors the chance to support a dental nonprofit organization through merchandise sales. The company also marked its 15th anniversary with daily events at its booth, including a themed “purple hour” for attendees.
