BISCO has announced the launch of Quantium™, a universal composite formulated for use in a wide range of clinical restorations. According to the company, Quantium is designed to provide strength, esthetics, and handling characteristics suitable for both anterior and posterior applications.
Quantium incorporates a nano-micro filler blend developed to balance physical performance and visual results. The company states that the composite has high strength, wear resistance, and low volumetric shrinkage, which are intended to help create durable restorations while minimizing microleakage and supporting marginal adaptation.
“At BISCO, we set out to create a composite that truly stands out,” said Timothy Sedlacek, BISCO research scientist. “Quantium reflects our commitment to pushing boundaries and giving clinicians a product that can perform beautifully in the real world.”
According to BISCO, the composite offers the following features:
- Durable restorations: High strength and wear resistance, along with low volumetric shrinkage.
- Esthetic outcomes: Designed to be easily polished and stain resistant, helping restorations maintain their appearance over time.
- Radiopacity: Developed to be easily visible on radiographs to assist in post-treatment evaluation.
- Handling: Quantium is formulated to deliver smooth, non-sticky handling. Unit dose capsules can be warmed for a more flowable application, depending on clinician preference.
- Shrinkage control: Low volumetric shrinkage is designed to help reduce microleakage and promote reliable marginal adaptation.
Quantium is available in six VITA® shades (A1, A2, A3, A3.5, B1, and B2), offered in both body and enamel opacities. Two effect shades — Bleach and Incisal — are also available. The composite is packaged in 4g syringes or 20-count 0.25g unit dose refills. Two introductory kits are also available, in syringe and unit dose formats, containing Quantium A2 and A3 body and enamel shades, along with All-Bond Universal® and Select HV® Etch with BAC. (VITA is a registered trademark of VITA ZAHNFABRIK H. Rauter GmbH & Co. KG. Germany.)
BISCO emphasizes its direct-to-clinic distribution model. According to the company, products are shipped fresh from its United States facility to help maximize shelf life. The company states that this model eliminates distributor markups and provides customers with direct access to product support.
Quantium is currently available for order, and clinicians can request a free sample through BISCO’s website or by contacting their sales team.
