Cloud-based practice management platform Curve Dental® recently introduced FLO AI, a new integrated suite of artificial intelligence (AI) tools designed to enhance productivity and efficiency in dental practices.
The release of FLO AI marks a notable expansion of Curve Dental’s commitment to embedding intelligence into daily dental workflows, aiming to reduce administrative burden and support clinical focus, according to a press release from Curve Dental. Unlike third-party AI integrations, FLO AI is built natively within Curve’s system, allowing AI-driven features to function at the point of care.
“With Curve FLO AI, intelligence is embedded into every step of the dental practice management workflow so patient care can remain front and center,” says Curve Dental President Jana Macon in the press release.
FLO AI includes several tools targeted at reducing manual tasks and enabling more streamlined operations across clinical and front-office functions. Key features include:
Eligibility+: Automates insurance verification with real-time data, reportedly cutting verification time from 15–30 minutes to seconds. Curve claims practices using this tool have seen same-day treatment acceptance increase by up to 150%.
Ask CurveAI: A 24/7 virtual assistant that provides real-time answers to software questions to support onboarding and ongoing training without requiring a support ticket.
Additional integrated capabilities include:
AI Call Summaries (via Mango Voice): Automatically documents patient calls and links them to patient records for easier follow-up.
Voice-to-Note (via Bola AI): Converts spoken clinical notes into real-time, SOAP-formatted documentation.
AI Dental X-Ray Diagnostics (via Pearl): Assists providers by flagging potential radiographic findings for review.
As part of its broader $20 million annual investment into product development, Curve Dental is working on an AI Dental Assistant. This tool is being designed to support both clinical and administrative teams with functions such as:
Hands-free note capture via ambient listening
Automated clinical documentation
AI-assisted charting and treatment planning
The assistant represents the next phase in Curve’s long-term AI strategy, which focuses on streamlining the patient journey and reducing the documentation burden on dental professionals.
“We completely revamped our product roadmap this year to prioritize the AI development that is absolutely reinventing how modern dentists and their teams practice today,” Macon says.
Beyond clinical support, Curve plans to leverage its data repository to build future AI tools that optimize revenue cycle management and administrative workflows. Macon noted that Curve’s extensive historical data is being used to train models that can predict and mitigate issues like claims denials and payment delays.
“With FLO AI, Curve isn't just adding automation; it's creating a smarter, more adaptive system grounded in real practice data,” Macon says.
