Nordent Manufacturing Inc. has released a new line of Atraumatic Forceps designed to support improved clinician control and minimize patient discomfort during tooth extractions. According to the company, the instruments are manufactured from German surgical stainless steel and developed with features aimed at enhancing both clinical performance and patient care.
The forceps feature a satin finish to help reduce glare during procedures. According to the company, chamfered grip holes are shaped to support ergonomic finger positioning and a stable grip, while the lightweight, balanced frame is intended to reduce hand fatigue and improve tactile responsiveness.
The beveled, smooth edges are designed to improve soft tissue management and help prevent catching during extractions. Adjustments to the beak geometry aim to support secure engagement with the crown or root, the company said.
“The design of these forceps supports a more secure grip — both on the instrument and the tooth — helping clinicians perform extractions with greater control and less trauma to surrounding tissue,” said Tim Irwin, vice president, strategic accounts at Nordent Manufacturing Inc.
The product line includes three design patterns:
-
Classic Pattern: Traditional beak shapes with serrations.
-
Deep Gripping Pattern: Notched tips for gingival access.
-
Tapered Pattern: Ultra-thin beaks for delicate tissue displacement.
Each pattern is available in multiple variations to address a range of clinical applications, according to the company.
The Atraumatic Forceps are now available through Nordent’s authorized distributors. Additional product information is available at www.nordent.com.
