Young Innovations recently entered a distribution agreement with OrthoNu to distribute that company's line of orthodontic home care products in the United States.
OrthoNu develops products intended to help patients manage common discomforts and emergencies that arise during orthodontic treatment, such as irritation from braces or aligners and minor wire issues. According to a press release from Young Innovations, the collaboration broadens Young’s orthodontic product portfolio while potentially reducing unscheduled emergency visits.
"Our partnership with OrthoNu brings two companies together committed to advancing patient care, giving providers advanced clinical options, and bringing unique, innovative solutions to market. Together, we aim to deliver a broad portfolio of functional, practical, and top-tier self-care solutions that professionals and consumers can trust without reservation," John Frymark, vice president of North America direct at Young Innovations, says in the release.
Under the deal Young will distribute OrthoNu's products including Chillin' Strips, which are dissolvable, moldable strips designed to relieve oral irritation caused by braces or aligners; dissolvable OrthoChewz, which are formulated to reduce discomfort and dryness; adhesive Comfort Tape for sore teeth or gums; topical mouth-aid used to soothe ulcers and other sores; and Tweakz, a multipurpose tool for adjusting sharp wires, dislodged brackets, or rough spots.
These products are intended to give orthodontic patients more autonomy in managing routine issues and to help practices maintain efficiency, according to the companies. The agreement is effective immediately, and Young will distribute OrthoNu products through its established specialty channels across the United States.
“We are enthusiastic to work with Young. Their well-defined strategy and approach to strikingly enhance the quality of continuity in patient care outside of a dental chair, while simultaneously driving practice efficiencies, is a natural complement to our mission. Through this aligned partnership and shared objectives, we are confident that we will see growth, success, and satisfaction for everyone involved,” Sima Yakoby Epstein, DMD, founder of OrthoNu, adds in the release.
