Owandy Radiology Inc. has announced the launch of its third-generation Opteo Intraoral Sensor, developed to support intraoral diagnostic applications with increased image clarity, speed, and efficiency. The company is based in France and serves the North American market from its office in Garden City, New York.
According to the company, the updated Opteo Sensor features 18.5-micron ultra HD resolution to support detailed diagnostics. The sensor is equipped with Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technology, which automatically adapts to varying exposure levels. This functionality is designed to provide consistently sharp images and reduce the need for retakes.
Boris Loyez, vice president of sales and marketing, Owandy Radiology North America, said, “Opteo combines the clarity clinicians demand with the reliability they expect. It is designed to make intraoral imaging faster, easier, and more comfortable for both practitioners and patients.”
The sensor uses “Always On” technology, which the company states allows it to be ready for immediate use without requiring a warm-up period. The third-generation release also introduces a new size 1.5 option, which can capture up to four teeth in a single image. This size joins the existing size 1 and size 2 offerings.
According to the company, the Opteo Sensor is designed for clinical versatility and can be used in procedures including endodontics, periodontics, caries detection, prosthetics, and implant surgery. It connects via a direct USB link for a simplified setup and seamless integration across one or more workstations. The sensor is built with a CMOS chip, fiber optics, and a shock-absorption system to support long-term performance.
