Turbo-CR is a one-minute calculus-softening foam designed to streamline hygiene appointments by softening deposits while maintaining enamel integrity. The product is available from Essential Dental Systems, Inc. (EDS).
According to the company, the formulation uses activated foaming technology intended to reach interproximal and subgingival areas, support patient comfort, and reduce chair time. The company states that the material flows into areas that are traditionally difficult to access and includes a chromatic indicator to support procedural precision. Turbo-CR can be used in a range of clinical situations, including routine hygiene visits, scaling and root planing, and periodontal cleaning around implants without scratching titanium or ceramic surfaces.
EDS has gathered feedback from several dental professionals who describe their experiences using the product in clinical practice.
Annie Walters, MSDH, RDH, reports that the foam eased instrumentation during her appointments. She says, “Turbo-CR noticeably softened the calculus and made instrumentation easier. It's easy to administer and has made a significant difference in scaling heavy, tenacious calculus. I believe this product will transform both the clinician and patient experience.”
