Clerri has announced a new integration with Open Dental Software aimed at aligning dental membership plans more closely with daily practice operations and clinical workflows.
The integration establishes a direct, Open Dental–authorized data connection between Open Dental and the Clerri Care Membership Platform. This connection is designed to support accurate, timely data exchange while maintaining security standards expected within practice management systems.
“This is more than just a new feature; it's a commitment to efficiency and data integrity for our customers and to continually strive to make how they work better,” said Doug McClure. “By building an Open Dental–authorized integration, we've eliminated unnecessary vendor layers and achieved sub-second data synchronization.”
Through the integration, patient calendars, procedures, and demographic data entered in Open Dental synchronize in near real-time with Clerri. This allows staff to reference up-to-date information during patient interactions and reduces manual reconciliation between systems. Membership benefit usage and remaining balances are also reflected immediately in the Clerri platform, helping staff and patients rely on consistent information.
Patients entered into Open Dental are automatically available within Clerri, which may reduce administrative steps when enrolling patients into membership plans.
As an Open Dental Authorized Vendor, Clerri connects directly to the PMS without requiring intermediary software. According to the companies, the integration is designed to preserve Open Dental system performance while offering practices tighter control over patient data and privacy. Installation is enabled directly through Open Dental data access settings, with backend configuration managed by Clerri.
The integration also introduces workflow automation for payment posting. Membership payments and associated charges can be posted simultaneously to the patient ledger, supporting accurate allocation of payments. Practices can choose between posting payments with balancing adjustments or separating processing fees from practice revenue, depending on their accounting preferences.
Clerri handles the technical setup, while practices enable access within Open Dental to complete the integration. Existing Clerri customers can contact their account manager for additional details. Practices or groups evaluating membership plan options can request further information through Clerri’s website.
