Premier Dental has announced the upcoming release of MultiMatch Flow Chameleon Antimicrobial Composite with BioArmor technology, with availability in the United States scheduled for May 2026 through authorized distributors.
The flowable composite is designed to address clinical demands for materials that support long-term oral health in environments affected by biofilm, acid exposure, and demineralization. The material incorporates BioArmor technology, which the company describes as an antimicrobial system based on spherical mesoporous nano-silica particles infused with octenidine dihydrochloride (OCT).
According to the company, OCT is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent with a history of clinical use, and the BioArmor system is engineered for controlled, long-term release. The company states that this approach allows penetration through biofilm and supports sustained antimicrobial activity at the restoration site. The company reports that the inclusion of antimicrobial particles reduces demineralization and decreases the amount of bacteria at the material surface, which is associated with the caries formation process. According to the company, the material demonstrates activity across a broad pH range and is also effective against microorganisms including fungi and viruses.
MultiMatch Flow is cleared by the FDA for multiple clinical applications, including direct restorations in cavity classes I through V, use as a base or liner under direct restorations, veneering of discolored anterior teeth, splinting of mobile teeth, extended pit and fissure sealing in molars and premolars, repair of composite or ceramic veneers, and retention of thermoplastic aligners.
The composite is formulated to provide easy-flowing, self-leveling handling for placement and adaptation, along with low shrinkage and physical properties intended to support marginal integrity and durability over time. The material also features a single universal shade designed to blend with VITA classical A1–D4 shades.
Premier Dental, which has operated for more than 100 years, develops dental products intended to support clinical procedures and practice efficiency, according to the company. The company states that its product development is informed by the needs of practicing clinicians.
In addition to MultiMatch Flow, the company indicated that a packable version, MultiMatch Universal Chameleon Restorative Composite, is also expected to be released in May 2026.
