NSK announced the launch of the VarioSurg 4, a piezoelectric surgical system designed for implantology and oral surgery applications. According to the company, the system includes updates in power, connectivity and ergonomic design intended to support minimally invasive surgical procedures.
The VarioSurg 4 features a slim, lightweight handpiece with twin LEDs designed to improve visibility and access in surgical areas. NSK said the system uses ultrasonic technology with feedback and auto-tuning functions that automatically adjust power levels to maintain cutting efficiency across varying bone densities.
The system includes Bluetooth® connectivity that links the VarioSurg 4 with the Surgic Pro2 implant motor, allowing clinicians to operate both devices through a single wireless foot control. NSK also said the unit incorporates an advanced Burst Mode designed to create a “hammer effect” for cutting hard cortical bone, with three adjustable frequency levels available for different surgical needs.
Additional features include a backlit LCD screen, a touch panel with icon-driven controls, and more than 50 specialized tips intended for bone removal, tooth extraction, sinus lift procedures and endodontic microsurgery. The system also includes an additional 50% power setting, up to 150%, for H tips.
“The VarioSurg 4 is the culmination of NSK's commitment to craftsmanship and clinical excellence,” stated Alfred Hayrapetian, NSK’s director of product management. “By integrating wireless technology and refined ergonomics, we are providing surgeons with Piezo surgery equipment that provides extraordinary precision for sensitive treatments such as Sinus Lift, bone harvesting and ridge split”.
NSK manufactures dental equipment including surgical motors, handpieces and maintenance systems for dental professionals.
