SprintRay has launched “Close the Gap,” a campaign created in collaboration with Drew Doughty that focuses on same-day dentistry workflows using 3D printing technology. The campaign centers on a common image associated with hockey players — missing teeth — and presents chairside restoration workflows designed to replace a tooth during a single appointment. According to the company, more than one in three people in the United States are missing at least one tooth due to accidents, injuries, or unexpected events, while many restorative treatments still rely on manufacturing methods that can take weeks.
The campaign launches with a 30-second film titled “Accidents Happen,” featuring Doughty. The video debuts on YouTube and paid social channels and is followed by weekly social media content, patient stories, and demonstrations of same-day treatment workflows.
In the campaign film, Doughty says, “People always ask me how I lost my teeth. The truth is it was just an accident, and accidents like mine happen more than you think. Not because people are careless or doing anything wrong. Sometimes it’s just bad timing. Accidents happen. Good thing SprintRay’s got your back.”
The campaign also highlights workflows available to dental practices using SprintRay’s Pro 2 system. According to the company, practices can scan, design, print, and place a flexible partial denture during a single visit using Apex Flex material for the denture base and Apex Teeth for the restoration. The workflow also incorporates Cloud Design services, the Duo Kit, and NanoCure for design and post-processing.
SprintRay said the workflow enables chairside restorations to be completed in less than an hour while allowing practices to keep treatment in-house.
“What stood out immediately is how seamless the workflow is,” said Dr. Casey Bennett with Lowcountry Dental Arts. “With SprintRay, we can go from scan to finished restoration in a single visit. We are delivering faster care, and giving patients their smile back without the wait.”
The “Close the Gap” campaign will run in the United States and Canada through paid media, trade partnerships, clinical content, activations, and events with the Los Angeles Kings. SprintRay said the campaign is expected to expand globally as Apex Flex material becomes available in additional markets, including the EU and Australia.
