Pearl has announced the launch of Pearl RCM, a revenue cycle management platform designed to integrate insurance verification, imaging review, clinical documentation, and claim preparation within dental practice workflows. The platform is intended to support practices in reducing administrative inefficiencies associated with insurance claims and improving claim submission accuracy.
Dental practices often manage insurance verification, imaging, clinical documentation, and claim submission across multiple systems. This fragmented workflow can contribute to incomplete documentation, submission of non-covered procedures, and claims that do not meet payer requirements, potentially resulting in denials, reimbursement delays, or downcoding. Industry-wide, insurance-related administrative burdens continue to affect practice operations and patient billing experiences.
Pearl RCM is structured to incorporate insurance-related checks earlier in the care workflow, including during scheduling, imaging, diagnosis, and treatment planning. According to the company, the system surfaces coverage details, identifies missing documentation or prerequisites, and indicates claim readiness status within Pearl’s existing dental AI platform.
The platform is built on Pearl’s FDA-cleared radiologic AI technology, which supports functions such as x-ray quality assessment at the point of capture, automated image selection for claim attachments, and generation of imaging-based clinical narratives.
“Dental practices lose enormous time and revenue navigating disconnected insurance workflows,” said Ophir Tanz, founder and CEO of Pearl. “Pearl RCM addresses claim issues proactively, before they become denials. Moving insurance verification and claim readiness to the point of care gives practices clarity and predictability that they've never had, and patients get a billing experience that finally matches the quality of their clinical care.”
Christine Marcin of Ballard Dental Partners described the operational impact of the platform within her organization: “Pearl saves our team hours daily by both auto-verifying insurance and making coverage details clear and easy to find. The new RCM toolset goes a big step further, ensuring we have the right evidence, codes, and documentation to clear claims without insurance back and forth.”
According to Pearl, early deployments of the platform have demonstrated:
Reduced staff time spent on eligibility verification and claim preparation
Fewer denials and downcodes associated with incomplete or non-compliant documentation
Improved first-pass clean claim submission rates
The platform includes several workflow tools:
Precheck™: Automates eligibility verification and code-level benefits review using clearinghouses and carrier portals, with coverage details integrated into appointment scheduling workflows.
Claim Actions: Provides alerts related to missing imaging, outdated radiographs, quality concerns, or coverage gaps prior to patient visits.
Imagecheck™: Uses AI to identify radiographic quality issues such as cone cuts, poor exposure, or incomplete apices before images are submitted with claims.
Clean Claim(coming soon): Will include automated attachment of AI-annotated clinical images and AI-generated claim narratives tailored to payer and procedure requirements.
Claim Insights(coming soon): Will provide analytics related to claim outcomes across providers, payers, and locations to help practices identify trends contributing to lost revenue.
Pearl RCM is currently available to dental practices in the United States.
