Aspen Dental has opened appointment scheduling for its Nov. 7 Day of Service, when more than 550 participating offices nationwide will provide free dental care to veterans. ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers will participate in the program for the first time, with plans to donate up to $1 million in full-arch treatment for eligible veterans referred by Aspen Dental doctors.
Advance appointments are required. During the Day of Service, Aspen Dental doctors and their teams will focus on patients’ urgent dental needs. Care will begin with a limited examination and radiographs and may include a filling, extraction, basic cleaning, or denture repair.
“Every appointment on Nov. 7 is a chance to get a veteran out of pain, restore confidence and thank them for their service,” said Bob Fontana, founder, chairman and CEO of The Aspen Group. “This year, the doctors and teams across Aspen Dental and ClearChoice have been preparing for months to welcome veterans into a friendly environment where they can feel at ease, and for some, take home a new smile that changes what comes next.”
The release notes that approximately one in four of the nearly 9 million veterans enrolled in U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs healthcare qualifies for VA dental benefits.
ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers will expand the scope of this year’s program in 21 markets with participating centers. In those markets, an Aspen Dental doctor will identify and refer one veteran for a comprehensive evaluation. If fixed full-arch treatment is determined to be clinically appropriate, the veteran will receive the treatment at no cost. ClearChoice expects to donate up to $1 million in treatment across participating centers.
Aspen Dental and ClearChoice are both part of The Aspen Group. The Day of Service also marks the first milestone in the organization’s five-year, $100 million commitment to expand its Healthy Mouth Movement for veterans and underserved communities.
