American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) Accredited Fellow Member, Bill Dorfman, DDS, FAACD, was awarded the Hall of Fame Award during the 35th Annual AACD Annual Scientific Session’s Celebration of Excellence on April 27, 2019 in San Diego.
The AACD honors its most accomplished and dedicated professionals with Celebration of Excellence awards, also known as Evy awards. Evy recipients are first nominated for the award by their colleagues and then are selected by the Awards and Recognition Committee. Evy award winners represent the most exemplary and talented individuals within the AACD, who are dedicated to advancing excellence in the art and science of cosmetic dentistry and to upholding the highest standards of ethical patient care.
The Hall of Fame Award is given to an AACD Member living or deceased, whose contributions to the field of cosmetic dentistry and services to the Academy have been significant, substantial, and long-standing.
Doctor, humanitarian, and philanthropist, Bill Dorfman, DDS, FAACD, has been an AACD member since 1989, and currently maintains a private practice in Los Angeles, CA. Bill Dorfman earned his DDS degree in 1983 from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, his AACD Accreditation in 1992 and attained Fellowship status in 1997.
Dr. Dorfman is one of the pioneers of many of the esthetic dentistry practices we now consider standardized. He is a well-respected speaker who has presented hundreds of lectures across the globe, to congresses, to universities, to scientific symposiums, and to other educators and trainers. He is admired for his ability to go beyond teaching “how”, to helping his audiences understand the “why”.
Furthermore, he is a worldwide social icon to dentists and patients alike. He has been featured on ABC’s Extreme Makeover, CBS’s The Doctors, Oprah, Larry King Live, and now on the E! Network the hit show, Revenge Body with Khloe Kardashian. Excitingly enough, while attending the 35th Annual American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Scientific Session, Dr. Dorfman hit the social media milestone of 1 million Instagram followers. Dr. Bill Dorfman has worked with celebrities such as Katy Perry, Anne Hathaway, Eva Longoria, Usher, Mark Wahlberg, and many more. To add to his many accomplishments, he is the inventor of Zoom Whitening and he is the founder of LEAP Foundation, a non-profit that helps young people succeed through an immersive annual leadership development program. Dr. Bill Dorfman’s long-lasting success made him the ideal recipient of the Hall of Fame Evy award from the AACD this year.
