The first-ever Dental VIP (Venture, Innovation & Partnering) Summit is scheduled for February 19, 2025, at the Intercontinental Chicago Miracle Mile. The event, described by meeting organizers as “groundbreaking,” will be held just before the Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting, to highlight transformative dental technologies and offer a platform for key stakeholders in the dental sector to connect and collaborate.
The summit aims to bring together a diverse group of participants, including entrepreneurs, investors, corporate executives, and clinical innovators, to drive advancements in dental care. With an emphasis on cutting-edge innovation, the summit will feature presentations from forward-thinking start-ups, panel discussions with industry experts, and keynote speeches by leading figures in the field.
Marty Jablow, DMD, co-chairman of the Dental VIP Summit and president of Dental Tech Advisors, expressed the significance of the event, noting, “The dental market is ripe for innovation, with significant unmet medical and technological needs. We saw an opportunity to create an exclusive event for a variety of key stakeholders who are driving dental innovation.”
The summit’s agenda promises to deliver valuable insights and networking opportunities. The day will kick off with a welcome address from Dr. Jablow and Darius Somekhian, co-founder of Pair Dental, followed by a keynote from Christian Coachman, founder and CEO of Digital Smile Design. Coachman will discuss the future trajectory of dental technology in his presentation, “Where Dentistry and Dental Tech Need to Go in the Next Few Years.”
Another highlight of the event is the “Early-Stage Dental Tech Shark Tank,” where start-up companies will present their innovative technologies to a panel of industry leaders and investors. The afternoon will feature a deep dive into the future of AI and automation in dentistry, as well as sessions on investing in dental start-ups and the role of partnerships in dental innovation.
In the afternoon, a second keynote address, by Stephenie Goddard, CEO of Glidewell Dental, will focus on how the company is leveraging technology to address unmet needs in the dental industry. This will be followed by an “Innovation Showcase” and a panel discussion on the future of dentistry featuring key opinion leaders (KOLs).
The event will conclude with a “Dental Disrupters Share Success Stories” session, followed by a networking reception, offering participants a chance to exchange ideas and form partnerships that could shape the future of the dental industry.
