As wildfires continue to devastate Southern California, two companies in the healthcare and dental industries, Henry Schein, Inc. and Ultradent Products, Inc., are stepping up to support affected communities.
Henry Schein, headquartered in Melville, N.Y., announced on January 14 the establishment of the Henry Schein Cares Foundation 2025 Relief Fund to assist in the recovery efforts for those impacted by the ongoing fires in Los Angeles. The company has pledged to donate an initial $25,000 to the fund, with an additional $25,000 contribution from the Henry Schein Cares Foundation. To further amplify the impact, Henry Schein will match employee donations — Team Schein Member (TSM) contributions — up to $50,000, bringing the total potential cash donation to up to $150,000. The company will also donate essential healthcare supplies worth up to $150,000 to on-the-ground relief partners, bringing Henry Schein’s total commitment to $300,000.
“We are deeply saddened by the immense loss caused by the fires in California, and our hearts go out to all the affected communities,” said Stanley M. Bergman, chairman of the board and CEO of Henry Schein. “In response to this emergency, we will partner with trusted and long-standing relief and recovery charitable partners to ensure the availability of the critical supplies and resources required to provide healthcare within affected communities. Team Schein remains committed to helping health happen in light of this evolving situation.”
In addition to financial contributions, Henry Schein is providing a customer emergency support hotline, which is available 24/7 for dental and medical professionals who are facing operational, logistical, or financial challenges due to the fires. The toll-free number, 800-999-9729, offers real-time assistance from Team Schein Members between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
“We are here to assist customers, provide guidance, and stand by dental and medical professionals to navigate this difficult time together,” Bergman added.
Ultradent Products, Inc., a developer of high-tech dental materials based in South Jordan, Utah, is also lending its support. The company announced it will donate 5% of U.S. sales from orders placed on Thursday, January 16, to the American Red Cross to help with wildfire relief efforts in Southern California.
“The devastation we’re witnessing in Southern California is staggering,” said Dirk Jeffs, president and CEO of Ultradent. “We are deeply moved by the perseverance and bravery we’ve seen during these wildfires. By pledging a portion of our sales to the Red Cross, Ultradent hopes to help bring relief and stability to impacted communities. We invite our partners in the dental community to join us in supporting the Red Cross and their admirable efforts.”
In addition to the financial contribution, Ultradent is also providing dental supplies to affected care providers to assist in their recovery efforts.
Both Henry Schein and Ultradent are committed to helping their communities during times of crisis. While Henry Schein’s response focuses on providing essential healthcare supplies and resources to the most vulnerable, Ultradent’s pledge targets immediate relief through financial support and essential dental materials.
