BioHorizons has introduced the CERALOG PROGRESSIVE-LINE ceramic dental implant system to the US market. The system incorporates a ceramic implant, zirconia and PEEK restorative components, and a metal-free screw, providing an alternative to conventional titanium implant systems.
It incorporates a bolt-in-tube implant-abutment connection designed to provide a stable, precise interface between the ceramic implant and restorative components.
According to BioHorizons, the system uses a high-performance ceramic material designed to meet the mechanical requirements of implant dentistry while providing the esthetic characteristics of a tooth-colored material.
CERALOG was initially developed by Camlog, a BioHorizons partner, and incorporates a tapered implant design with aggressive threading and instrumentation specific to its surgical placement.
"CERALOG merges a modern implant body design with completely metal-free restorative components to address the growing U.S. market for alternative implant solutions,” said Steve Boggan, president and chief executive officer of BioHorizons. “This new addition to our already broad implant product portfolio allows us to provide doctors with an even broader range of solutions for their patients.”
