Intelibly is partnering with consumer financing company Synchrony to integrate the CareCredit health and wellness credit card into its dental technology platform, giving patients access to financing information when they inquire about or schedule an appointment.
The companies said the integration is intended to make patients aware of financing options earlier in the treatment process while helping dental practices improve treatment acceptance and accelerate revenue cycles.
More than 80% of US dentists accept CareCredit but patients may not always be made aware that financing is available for dental care, according to a press release announcing the partnership. Intelibly and Synchrony said a lack of awareness can contribute to patients postponing treatment or reducing the scope of care they receive.
Through the integration, patients who request or schedule an appointment through Intelibly will receive an invitation to apply for CareCredit before their visit. CareCredit can be used for the portion of dental treatment not covered by insurance, ranging from individual procedures to comprehensive treatment plans.
Eric Rindler, DDS, chief executive officer of Intelibly, said the partnership is designed to reduce barriers for both patients and dental practices.
“Patients gain confidence knowing upfront that financing is available for the full scope of care they need, while practices benefit from faster, more reliable payments and an improved patient experience,” Dr. Rindler said.
Bringing financing into the patient journey before the dental visit also may allow practices to discuss payment options earlier in the treatment process, according to the companies.
“By integrating the CareCredit health and wellness credit card directly into Intelibly’s platform at the moment a patient is inquiring or booking an appointment, we’re helping bring financing into the conversation earlier,” said Sonia Williams, general manager, dental, at Synchrony.
Williams said the integration is intended to support treatment acceptance, improve the patient experience, and help practices accelerate their revenue cycle.
Intelibly describes its platform as connecting patients, dental providers, and payors during the new-patient journey. The company said it is continuing to expand its network of integrations and partnerships as part of an effort to improve patient access to care and practice performance.
Synchrony provides consumer financing and banking products and supports more than 400,000 small and midsize businesses and health and wellness providers, according to the release.
