Ultradent Products, Inc. has launched the VALO™ XS and VALO™ XG curing lights, expanding its VALO X curing light family with two models featuring different lens sizes and curing modes.
Both curing lights feature an aerospace-grade aluminum unibody construction, custom LED chip, low-profile head for posterior access, one-button activation with an Accelerometer Function, and the ability to operate corded or cordless.
The VALO XG features an 11.7-mm lens designed to provide coverage for larger restorations. It offers Standard Power and Xtra Power curing modes and includes a built-in black light diagnostic aid mode. The curing light is also compatible with the ProxiCure™ Ball, PointCure™, TransLume™, Interproximal, and White Light accessory lenses.
The VALO XS is designed with pediatric and orthodontic applications in mind. Its 9.7-mm lens is intended for use in smaller mouths and over individual orthodontic brackets. The light includes Standard Power, Xtra Power, and Ortho Quadrant modes. In Ortho Quadrant mode, the light pulses for three seconds followed by a two-second rest between pulses. The VALO XS also includes a built-in black light diagnostic aid mode and is compatible with four accessory lenses.
“A pediatric dentist working in a smaller mouth isn't always after the same lens as a clinician placing a large posterior restoration,” says Neil Jessop, senior vice president of research and development at Ultradent. “With the VALO XS and XG curing lights, we tuned the lenses and the modes to the way clinicians practice. Ortho Quadrant mode on the VALO XS light is a good example; it’s the kind of thing that can save real time chairside without compromising quality.”
Both the VALO XS and VALO XG curing lights are covered by Ultradent's five-year manufacturer's warranty.
