Kirksville, Mo. — The American Board of Dental Public Health has appointed Don Altman, DDS, DHSc, MHP, MBA, MA, to a 5-year term as a diplomat of the profession, according to the Kirksville (Mo) Daily Express. An A.T. Still University doctor and professor, Dr. Altman will aim to streamline the board’s infrastructure while continuing its mission of protecting the public health.
Eligible dentists must have an MPH degree, complete a dental public health residency, and take a comprehensive oral and written exam.
Altman has experience working for city and state health departments in Texas and served as dental director for the Arizona Department of Health. He serves as an associate professor for A.T. Still University-Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health and chair of the Department of Public Health for ATSU-School of Health Management.
